Jeunesse: Young People, Texts, Cultures (2013 Summer Issue)

The Centre for Research in Young People's Texts and Cultures is pleased to announce that the 2013 Summer Issue of Jeunesse: Young People, Texts, Cultures is now available.

Housed in the Centre for Research in Young People’s Texts and Cultures (CRYTC) and produced under the sponsorship of the Vice-President (Research) and the Dean of Arts at the University of Winnipeg, with funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), Jeunesse: Young People, Texts, Cultures is an interdisciplinary, refereed academic journal whose mandate is to publish research on and to provide a forum for discussion about cultural productions for, by, and about young people.

Σεμινάριο Εξειδίκευσης στη Διδασκαλία της Ελληνικής ως Ξένης Γλώσσας σε Ενήλικους: Διδάσκω Ελληνικά (26-31/7/13)

Το Κέντρο Ελληνικού Πολιτισμού διοργανώνει Σεμινάριο Εξειδίκευσης στη Διδασκαλία της Ελληνικής ως Ξένης Γλώσσας σε Ενήλικους με τίτλο: Διδάσκω Ελληνικά. Το σεμινάριο θα διεξαχθεί στη Βαρειά Μυτιλήνης από τις 26 ως τις 31 Ιουλίου 2013.
Το σεμινάριο απευθύνεται σε έμπειρους καθηγητές της νέας ελληνικής οι οποίοι διδάσκουν σε μη φυσικούς ομιλητές και σε εκπαιδευτικούς (φιλολόγους ελληνικής και ξένων φιλολογιών, δάσκαλους, νηπιαγωγούς) που δεν έχουν διδακτική εμπειρία στο αντικείμενο. Θα συμμετάσχουν και καθηγητές ελληνικής γλώσσας από διάφορες ευρωπαϊκές χώρες, υπότροφοι του Προγράμματος Δια Βίου Μάθησης της ΕΕ.

Καλοκαιρινή Εκστρατεία Ανάγνωσης, Δημιουργικότητας και Καινοτομίας για παιδιά (15/6-15/9/13)

103 Δημόσιες και Δημοτικές βιβλιοθήκες της χώρας μας οργανώνουν, από 15 Ιουνίου έως 15 Σεπτεμβρίου 2013,
την Καλοκαιρινή Εκστρατεία Ανάγνωσης, Δημιουργικότητας και Καινοτομίας για παιδιά.
Το 2012, το 1ο έτος του προγράμματος, εδραιώθηκε η συνεργασία μεταξύ 87 δημοσίων και δημοτικών βιβλιοθηκών σ’ όλη την Ελλάδα. Η Καλοκαιρινή Εκστρατεία του 2012 τράβηξε το ενδιαφέρον του κοινού και πέρασαν από τις βιβλιοθήκες πάνω από 20.000 άτομα, ενήλικες και παιδιά.
Η Καλοκαιρινή Εκστρατεία Ανάγνωσης και Δημιουργικότητας 2013 με κεντρικό μήνυμα “Στις βιβλιοθήκες ο κόσμος είναι πολύχρωμος” έχει σκοπό να κατακτήσετε τη γνώση μέσα από το χρώμα.
Για πρώτη φορά, 103 βιβλιοθήκες συνεργάζονται δημιουργώντας προγράμματα δραστηριοτήτων για να ανακαλύψετε νέους τρόπους έκφρασης, να εφεύρετε νέες μορφές ψυχαγωγίας και να πειραματιστείτε με διαφορετικούς τρόπους προσέγγισης της γνώσης.
Απ τις 15 Ιουνίου έως τις15 Σεπτεμβρίου όλες οι βιβλιοθήκες του Future Library θα σας περιμένουν.

Worcester Papers - 'Representation of the Body in Fantasy and Gothic Literature '‏

Call for Papers
Representation of the Body in Fantasy and Gothic Literature 
 
Papers are invited for Issue 9 (2013) of Worcester Papers (ISSN 1749-1150) to be published in December 2013. This issue will be themed 'Representations of the Body in Fantasy and Gothic Literature', aiming to explore the undeniable influence of the body in these genres. This issue welcomes articles that examine the varied portrayals of the physical in the wide range of Gothic and Fantasy literature including, but are not limited to the following topics:
-    The subversive body
-    Corporeal transition/hybridity and the body
-    Embodying gender
-    Body under attack/ bodily betrayals
-    Notions of alterity
-    Body in illustrations

Please send 250 word abstracts, along with a brief biography by September 7th  2013 to 
n.aziz@worc.ac.uk. Successful submissions will be notified by September 21st 2013. Final articles, in MLA style, font Times New Roman font size 12, double spaced, between 4,000 to 6,000 words must be received by November 7th 2013.

Worcester Papers is a journal produced by the Institute of Humanities & Creative Arts at the University of Worcester, Worcester, UK. The International Forum for Research in Children's Literature is within the Institute of Humanities & Creative Arts under the directorship of Prof Jean Webb. IFRCL is an interdisciplinary research group working in children's literature, historical perspectives, drama, film, illustration and interpreting text in the widest sense.
